Welcome to the Fight For The Flight campaign. When Marvel announced that Michael Avon Oeming and Scott Kolins would be behind the launch of Omega Flight, as spin-off of the classic Alpha Flight, fans around the world were excited. The creators quickly showed a lot of respect for both the fans, and the History behind the book. More and more people were talking, and getting excited, even classic fans who initially had reservations.

When the solicitation for Omega Flight #1 came out, it was listed as being a 5 issue mini-series, rather than the ongoing series originally promoted, and that fans promised. Marvel didn't have enough respect for the fans to even announce this before the solicitation were released. It turns out that Marvel gave up on the title before it even hit the shelves. Michael Oeming was informed that should sales of the mini-series be high enough, they would then consider extending the title to a regular series. The problem, unfortunately, is that many buyers may develop the attitude that they will simply wait for the Trade Paperback version of the book to come out later, and not buy the comics themselves. The support level for a mini-series is also nothing like that we see for a full-length title.

Writer Michael Avon Oeming was committed to writing a regular series for Omega Flight and was extremely disappointed when Marvel's editorial staff informed him that the title he had put so much into was being downgraded. Oeming is still committed to doing whatever it takes to make Omega Flight a Marvel mainstay.

There are several things you, as a fan, can do.
1. Buy the title as it comes out. If you can, buy more than one copy and give it to a friend. You might make a new fan, and it will support the book. The best way to get the idea through to Marvel that people want this title is through pre-orders. So pre-order your copies today!
2. Speak out! Tell Marvel what you think! Our Take Action section shows you how you can tell Marvel just how you feel.
3. Promote the book at you local comic shop. In the he Promote section you will find flyers and a poster to print off to take to you local comic store(s). Convice the shop clerks to place the flyers in customer's bags and display there where people can pick them up. Have the shop place the poster in a prominant location.
4. Spread the word. The Support section of the site contains banners and link HTML to let others know about this effort.
